# What is a hold charge?

You might see a temporary hold on your bank account. This isn’t the final payment and will be automatically released if you cancel or a delivery is not made. It’s simply a routine funds check to help protect against fraud. The actual charge will only be applied when you download your final delivery, and it may be slightly higher or lower than the temporary hold. Think of it like a "deposit".
